Instructor: Pu Sah Buhm Nym (Third Degree)
Brief info
My dad first brought me to the Colchester Kuk Sool dojang when I was ten years old. We enjoyed ourselves and he decided to join, but unfortunately I wasn’t confident enough in myself to do the same. A few years later, a friend of mine told me he wanted to try the martial art that dad did, and I decided to go along again with him. Having a friend to train with gave me the confidence to sign up, and in doing so start my lifelong martial art journey − although I didn’t know that at the time! That was 2009. Over the last 10 years, I have achieved far more than I could have imagined. I became a black belt in 2013 and am now training for my 3rd degree. I have had the opportunity to meet Kuk Sa Nim and train with masters from around the world, and to take part in the European Championships as both a competitor and a judge. Most importantly, I have developed a sense of confidence and self-belief which helps me reach new goals both in and out of the dojang. In 2012 I completed the Instructor Training Course, and have since gone on to teach as Assistant Instructor for the Colchester school. Sharing my passion for Kuk Sool through teaching, and helping others grow and find their potential as martial artists as I have, is an enormous privilege for which I am continually grateful.
